NEW MEXICO GUN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION
P.O. Box 13687, Albuquerque, NM 87192
The New Mexico Gun Collectors Association (NMGCA), Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to firearms collecting, the shooting sports, and firearms safety education. The purpose and objectives are to foster and encourage an interest in the collecting, development, use, and research of all types of arms. These arms include edged weapons as well as firearms and associated equipment or material, both ancient and modern.
The NMGCA Board of Directors open meeting is held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Caliber's (5600 Holly NE). Members are encouraged to attend.
Each year there are 3 major Gun Shows and an Old West Show. The 2006 show dates are as follows: March 4th and 5th, June 3rd and 4th, October 7th and 8th for the Gun Shows and August 5th and 6th for the Old West Show.
Also, there are 11 Mini Shows (with member-only tables) at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (Chaco Room), 2401 12th Street, NW. These are held on the 4th Wednesday evening of the month (6:00 pm).
The Annual Banquet is held in December and is free for members, who may bring one guest.
The NMGCA Newsletter is distributed bi-monthly (by mail) to all members. The current issue is also available on the Web site: www.nmgca.net.
Membership in the NMGCA supports the club's sponsorship of a public television show about collecting firearms, collector displays at the major gun shows, a firearms exhibit at the annual state fair, and state-wide firearms political lobbying. The NMGCA is affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and helps fund the NRA Firearms Museum. As a 501(c)3 organization, we are required to foster educational programs, e.g., television programs and exhibits at shows.
The NMGCA officers for 2006 are: President, Jim Covell; Vice President, Darlene Couchman; Secretary, Carl Bartlett; Treasurer, Dan Brovont. The Gun Show Manager is Mark Covell.
Membership dues are as follows: New Annual Member $40.00 and Spouse $20.00. New Senior Member (over age 61) $30.00 and Spouse $15.00. For Annual Renewal (after 1st year) $30.00 and spouse $15.00.
